CHEF SHAUN WHYTE
BROWARD COUNTY, FL
Born and bred in the vibrant city of Boston, MA, I embarked on a journey to Florida in 2002 alongside my mother. Growing up, I found solace in two passions: dancing and basketball, while nurturing an unwavering love for the culinary arts. Graduating from Coral Springs High School and later Florida Atlantic University with a degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion, I entered the workforce with a sense of uncertainty. However, fate led me to the City of Boca Raton, where I honed my skills in luxury retail, rubbing shoulders with renowned brands like Versace and Burberry.
Despite my professional endeavors, financial stability remained elusive until 2020, when I met Catherine, the love of my life. With her astute business acumen and unwavering support, I underwent a transformative journey, realizing the untapped potential in my culinary prowess. This revelation prompted me to take a leap of faith, bidding farewell to my corporate roles and founding my own culinary venture, "Shaun’s Cooking," in August 2021.
Since then, I've been tirelessly navigating the culinary landscape, orchestrating local street pop-ups and catering events across Miami-Dade and West Palm Beach counties. Each dish served is a testament to my roots and the unwavering drive to elevate my craft. My motivation stems from my family and the humble beginnings I cherish dearly. The prospect of pushing boundaries in the culinary realm, all while providing for my loved ones, is the ultimate dream—a dream I'm determined to turn into reality, one community at a time.
